What I am doing today through quilting. Skip to primary content. My Sister Loves Elephants. April 19, 2014. My sister, Claudia, loves elephants the way I love giraffes. I would have to say her house is as full of elephants as mine is of giraffes. So a couple years ago I came across a pattern of four intertwined elephants. They look like they are following one another around a pole. The beginning of the block is actually, in the quilters world, called a snails trail. So here is the whole quilt. Your love ...

Long arm quilting at its best! Welcome to Quilting Arts Studio Calgary,. My story is fairly traditional, in that I grew up surrounded by women who created wonderful "things" from textiles as well as every other material available. They reduced, renewed, reused before it was fashionable; they lived in a frugal era. A happy journey (not without some tense moments) and I feel very. Fortunate and blessed to be able to do long arm quilting for others. Be sure to check out my studio pictures. As I have lost.

Quilting As Desired
Monday, June 18, 2012. Red White Blue and Christmas. A few weeks ago I showed my design wall with a mixed up bunch of red, white, and blue blocks. This is what I came up with. I'll donate this to Quilts of Valor next week. The backing idea came from / http:/ www.maryquilts.com/off-center-4-patch-backing/. The backing and border fabric was given to me, but the patches and squares for the top were leftovers just waiting to be used. And of course I quilted my favorite swirls. Another Log Cabin for Jean.

quilting at balmoral cottage
Quilting at balmoral cottage. Sunday, March 22, 2015. I've been taking some courses at college, so last week my eyes were looking at books and not fabric. By Friday night, the paper had been written and the midterm taken so I rewarded myself with a little sewing! In fact it has turned into a bit of a buffet! The first thing I did was finish off this feather pillow. The bright colours give me a lift, reminding me that summer is just around the corner! Lastly, I'm including a quilt that I made last fall fo...
