Chronology and Influence of my Bicycles. Representation of my bike. 1 My first bike was a small, red, BMX-style bike with one gear and a coaster brake that I would hammer on at top speed, producing spectacular (and perfectly controlled) skid stops. I started on it with training wheels and moved on to making jumps at the bottom of my driveway out of logs and plywood, hurting myself on a few occasions. I wish I could do skid stops like that now. That summer, a mechanic commented on the fact that the bike's...

http://zomgbicycles.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 31, 2010. My first group ride was such fun! The weather ended up being much cooler and more pleasant than I'd expected, and it was just a joy to be cycling through our beautiful city/cities on such a sunny, breezy Memorial Day. Lots of bell-ringing and (very! But we look good, right? Answer: Yes, we do! Oh, and I also got to meet Cycler from Biking in Heels. And Somervillain (note: does not look like Curious George in person! From Boston Retro Wheelmen. I just hope it doesn't go to her head.

ZOMGBicycles!: July 2010
http://zomgbicycles.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 30, 2010. Human error, continued. After much delay with my original plans to get the Lady Raleigh her new rear wheel, it finally seemed like it was going to happen yesterday. The shop had ordered my new Sun CR-18 26 x 1-3/8" alloy rim ( foreshadowing! And I was excited to see the whole process. (For anyone interested in reading about what's involved in wheel-building, Sheldon Brown. Can of course explain it better than I can.). Can you see the ones that I snipped?
