So we decided to have kids...: February 2011
http://twofoottail.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
So we decided to have kids. Thursday, February 3, 2011. Get back on the horse. My horse came back and stood over me, apologetically, as if wondering "why are you down there? Did I do that? Last weekend we went back to pick up the horses. We rode for an hour under the instruction of our trainer, and headed for home. It didn't feel real, riding again for the first time in 2 1/2 years. At first I shook, and then I teared up, and then I felt it all coming back to me again. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

So we decided to have kids...: June 2010

So we decided to have kids. Saturday, June 5, 2010. Fish are slimy and I don't touch them.here I cut this worm in half for you, Mommy! My daughter wavers between tomboy and diva, bouncing precariously back and forth between the two with ease. She can go from princess to mudball in nanoseconds, from "I love kitties! To "Why can't I touch that dead bird? In just mere moments. So went our first day of fishing this spring. A wonderful fungal delicacy that I remember hunting when I was a little kid. Wil a...

So we decided to have kids...: Kindergarten
http://twofoottail.blogspot.com/2013/09/kindergarten.html
So we decided to have kids. Sunday, September 8, 2013. The word is German in origin, and literally means “children’s garden.”. This brings to mind a happy place, filled with flowers, cute little googly eyed bugs, and frolicking fun. A garden filled with joy and love and happy happy fun time for little children, only a magic school bus ride away. Why then, is it so damn hard to watch your baby walk out that door, climb those big bus steps, and disappear? Let’s backtrack about five years. You smile and wav...

So we decided to have kids...: November 2011
http://twofoottail.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
So we decided to have kids. Friday, November 18, 2011. It was a time warp, I swear! Wow I can't believe how delinquent I've been at keeping up with this blog! I blame it on a tear in the fabric of time and space. It can't possibly have anything to do with me and my dysfunctional time management skills. No way! Anyway, since we seem to have experienced a time skip, lets get all caught up. Since spring, lots has happened. I got a new horse, Miller. He's awesome! I ran my first half marathon! View my comple...

So we decided to have kids...: And then he was three!
http://twofoottail.blogspot.com/2011/05/and-then-he-was-three.html
So we decided to have kids. Friday, May 13, 2011. And then he was three! OK, so I'm REALLY REALLY behind on this blog. We are clear back in February. I'm so embarrassed. That just means that I'm a busy mom, so dedicated to my home and family that I have no time for nonsense like blogging, right? Uh huh. Bear with me while I write a few short posts to catch us up. Unfortunately, we came back from beautiful 60 degree weather to our minivan completely covered in snow at the airport parking lot. Ugh. All in ...

So we decided to have kids. Thursday, February 23, 2012. When I grow up, I'm going to be a daddy, " said Rowan, eating his sandwich. Hmm, that's good buddy," I replied absentmindedly, busy with my cleaning. Rowan continued, "but who will be my mommy when I'm all big? Well, I will always be your mommy! I answered, pausing to smile at him. Hmm, that's good Mommy," Rowan said. He smiled and finished his sandwich. Where has four years gone! My baby boy is four. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my big boy, who will always.

So we decided to have kids. Wednesday, January 19, 2011. Lola's Church Pictures Part 1. Sunday, January 9, 2011. On Wings of Horses. To my mare,. When I met you I had been searching for a fairytale ideal. I wanted a tall flashy steed, black and white with flowing mane and tail, and the grace and style of a Lipizzaner stallion. Instead, I saw you, a small, round, brown mare, only four years old, with a short black mane, and a lazy disposition. Instantly I knew you were the one. Last month I saw you lying ...

So we decided to have kids...: August 2010

So we decided to have kids. Sunday, August 22, 2010. Too soon, their ride is over, and they climb backwards down the tall ladder, dirty and happy, chattering about the header and the auger, and the wheat. I hope that we can do this again next year, and the next, and that someday they can look out at these fields and remember, and smile too. Thin stalks wave in liquid movement, flowing over the hills like water. A steady wind stirs the surface, swirling green and summer gold,. Thursday, August 19, 2010.
